Dr Godela Weiss-Sussex's main research interests lie in the culture and literature of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries in the following areas: the representation of the city in literature and the visual arts; the relationship between literary text, contemporary aesthetic theory and the visual arts; the works of German-Jewish writers produced in Germany and in exile. Her current research project is a study of German-speaking Jewish women writers 1900-1938.
