A new book series in Modern Languages (French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and comparative studies), IGRS Books, will be published by the Institute of Germanic & Romance Studies, University of London.
Proposals for monographs, conference volumes, or thematically-linked collections of essays, between 30,000 and 100,000 words in length, may be submitted for selection by the IGRS's editorial committee, which is advised by a peer review committee of 36 senior academics in the field. Further details.

Publications of the Institute of Germanic Studies
Launched in 1956, this series comprises monographs, volumes of essays by a single author or by various hands, and the proceedings of international conferences held at the Institute and, occasionally elsewhere. Special attention is drawn to the sub-series London German Studies, which publishes a selection of papers delivered at the Institute or further afield.
Library Publications
This occasional series includes Research in Germanic Studies, a comprehensive survey of newly published and ongoing work, published with the Conference of University Teachers in Great Britain and Ireland (CUTG). Issues from 1995-1996 to 1999-2000 inclusive are accessible in electronic form on the CUTG website. Most issues are also available in printed form.
Bithell Memorial Lectures
Published annually from 1975 to 1986, thereafter roughly at two- to three-year intervals.
Bithell Series of Dissertations
Launched in 1978, this series is designed to help young scholars publish recent work of high quality, which has been accepted for a research degree by universities in the United Kingdom and Eire. Since 1989 the series has been with the Modern Humanities Research Association (MHRA).
Recommendations for theses which might be considered for possible inclusion in the series should be made by the supervisor and/or examiner(s), and sent to the Convenor of the Bithell Editorial Board: Professor R.N.N. Robertson, St John's College, Oxford OX1 3JP. Proposals must be accompanied by a copy of the Examiners' Report and Abstract.

JOURNAL OF ROMANCE STUDIES
The Journal of Romance Studies promotes innovative critical work in the areas of linguistics, literature, performing and visual arts, media, material culture, intellectual and cultural history, critical and cultural theory, psychoanalysis, gender studies, social sciences, and anthropology.
Two monographic issues and one open issue are published each year. The primary focus is on those parts of the world that speak, or have spoken, French, Italian, Spanish or Portuguese but work on other cultures is included. Most issues cross national and disciplinary boundaries in order to stimulate new ways of thinking about cultural history and practice.
