You have automatic access to the University of London Students Union (bar, swimming pool and other sports facilities, discounted travel), Health Service (including student counselling and dentist), and Careers Service: all located at the University of London Union, Malet Street, within 2 minutes walk.
Libraries
London offers unrivalled resources. The Institute is on the floor below Senate House Library in Senate House; within 5 minutes walk of the libraries of the British Film Institute, Birkbeck College, UCL, School of Slavonic and Eastern European Studies, School of Oriental and African Studies; and within 10 minutes walk of the British Library (the major national copyright library, with outstanding international holdings).
You have additional access (reference only) to the libraries of other University of London Colleges situated elsewhere in and near London: Kings College (Strand), the Courtauld Institute of Art (Strand), Queen Mary (Mile End), Goldsmiths College (New Cross), Royal Holloway (Egham, Surrey).
Several Institutes of the School of Advanced Study (Historical Research, Germanic Studies, Institute for the Study of the Americas, Commonwealth Studies, Classical Studies, Warburg Institute) and its associated Institute (Wellcome Institute for the History of Medicine) have outstanding specialist libraries, to which you also have access: all are within 2-10 minutes walk.
Pastoral Support
Pastoral support for all students enrolled on the degree is provided by personal tutors and the MA Director.
