Contemporary Women's Writing in French Seminar

Convenor: Dr Gill Rye (Institute of Germanic & Romance Studies; gill.rye@sas.ac.uk)

Saturdays 2.30-4.30 pm

The CWWF Seminar meets two to three times a year, the venue alternating between the IGRS, University of London, and regional institutions. The aim of the Seminar is to provide an ongoing forum for the discussion and promotion of a wide range of contemporary writing by women. The main focus is on new and recent texts from either metropolitan France or elsewhere, but new approaches to any post-war women’s writing in French are also welcome. The format for meetings is flexible and may include reading group sessions for new texts, round-table discussions, formal papers, workshops, etc. The Seminar is open to all students, researchers and teachers interested in contemporary women’s writing in French. Six major international conferences have also taken place since 2000, as well as author study days and readings.  The seminar is an activity of the cross-cultural Centre for the Study of Contemporary Women’s Writing (CCWW) at the IGRS. Note: The CCWW website is currently being re-designed.

The CWWF Seminar also has a monthly e-mail newsletter, with searchable archive - to subscribe (free of charge), please contact Gill Rye.
